Our almost three year old is very creative, so we end up with a mountain of art that she has created. One day while sitting out in the sunshine watching her create yet another ‘masterpiece’ I decided to think of some clever ways to reuse her art. Here are some of the ways you can reuse your children’s art.

Wrapping Paper

Children love to paint and rolls of paper don’t come free, so turn those masterpieces into wrapping paper for loved ones. Generally, we like to sort through a week’s worth of paintings and keep only the interesting ones. Simply fold and store them.

Birthday or Greeting Cards

Drawings and craft piece’s are perfect for this. So easy to do and saves a lot of money on birthday or greeting cards. Great to give to parents, grandparents and teachers.

Scrapbooking or Photobooks

If you prefer creating your own photobook rather than using a traditional photo album, why not reuse your children’s art as memories or backgrounds? When they are older it will bring them and yourself joy seeing their old creations preserved with memories.

School Book Covers

Probably aimed more at primary school children, but definitely a unique way to reuse the endless art collection. Also much nicer to look at their reused art than bubbled-up clear contact.

Framed Art

Sometimes your child will create something that grabs you or looks beautiful. Why not frame it and hang it on the wall. If you have more than one it can create a beautiful gift for a grandparent. This is a lovely way to reuse your children’s art.
